CB Police Calls Sept. 28

Hang-up call
A 51-year old male was arrested on a Probation Violation charge Monday after the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office asked CBPD to conduct a welfare check following a hang-up call to 911.  According to an entry on the police log for 1:27 a.m., David Balch was taken into custody on the 200 block of Ingersoll Ave. and transported to the county jail at Coquille.

Warrant
According to an entry on the Coos Bay Police log for Sunday, 3:49 p.m., 1000 block Webster, 35-year old Trevor Scott Welch arrested on charges of DWS – Misdemeanor, Attempt to Elude on Foot and False Information to Police Officer.  Also arrested on Douglas Co. Sheriff’s Office warrant for DUII and another or Parole Violation.

Ran
A 63-year old male was caught after he allegedly ran from a store at 149 So. 7th St. in Coos Bay Sunday morning.  According to an entry on the police log, “shoplifter just fled the store.  Employee chasing him running toward Mingus Park.”  Harold Gamman was charged with Theft III, transported and lodged in the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Vehicle
According to an entry on the Coos Bay Police log for Sunday, 10:46 a.m., 300 block LaClair St., 29-year old female “reported passenger window broken out and wallet stolen.”

 
Police calls Sept. 27

Suspicious
A report of a suspicious subject, “dressed all in black,” led to an arrest early Friday morning on Walnut Ave. in Coos Bay.  According to an entry on the police log for 2:32 a.m., 42-year old Donald Baxter was taken into custody on a Linn Co. warrant for Contempt of Court on an original charge of DWS.  He was also cited for PCS Less than an Oz. of Marijuana.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Dispute
A report of a “dispute in progress” on the 200 block of So. Schoneman Ave. in the Empire District of Coos Bay Thursday night, 6:53 p.m., led to the arrest of a 23-year old male.  According to an entry on the police log, Herman Bloemsma was charged with Harassment Domestic and cited for PCS Less than an Oz. Marijuana.  He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

UEMVs
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Thursday, 4:52 p.m., 1100 block No. Baxter, a 76-year old female complained “theft from vehicle.”  An entry on the CBPD log, 8:43 a.m., also involved a “theft from vehicle” reported by a 19-year old female on the 500 block of 8th Ave.  An 80-year old female reported at 8:34 a.m., “unlawful entry into vehicle” on the 600 block of No. Ad ams in Coquille.

Thefts
According to five entries on the Coos Bay Police log for Thursday, 10:23 a.m. to 10:32 a.m., all from the same location on the 100 block of Norman St., five individuals, a 97-year old male, 91-year old male, 93-year old female and two other females all reported thefts.

Warrant
A report of an employer allegedly assaulted by a former employee in the Charleston Boat Basin Wednesday, led to the arrest of a 37-year old male on a warrant out of Douglas Co.  According to an entry on the Coos Co. Sheriff’s log, Frederick Stufflebean was taken into custody at 5:40 p.m. on the warrant, but a report was also taken for Assault IV and Criminal Mischief.  He was transported to the county jail at Coquille.

Criminal Trespass
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Friday night, 9:42 p.m., Mill Casino, 3201 Tremont St., 52-year old Steven A. Vieira, Bend, cited in lieu of custody for Criminal Trespass II.  Trespassed from casino for one year.

Elude
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Friday, 3:59 p.m., Hwy. 101 and North Bay Road, 26-year old Aaron Vernon Heyer charged with Attempt to Elude, PCS Scheduled IV.  Also served valid Oregon State Parole Board warrant for Parole Violation and cited for DWS-Violation. 

Rollover
A vehicle reportedly rolled over on the beach of the North Spit near Southport Lumber Mill, Friday, 7:49 p.m..  No one was injured, but a trailer had to be brought in to remove the vehicle.

DUII
According to an entry on the Coos Bay Police log for Saturday, 12:55 a.m., 8th & Central, “result of traffic stop,” 33-year old Daniel Loudenbeck arrested for DUII (BAC .17%), and cited for Violation of Basic Rule (speeding) and two-times unsignaled turn.

Wanted
According to an entry on the Coos Bay Police log for Friday, 8:38 p.m., 130 No. Cammann St., “result of traffic stop,” 44-year old Travis Fite arrested on Shasta Co. warrant for Assault, Domestic Violence; a second warrant on Cruelty to Child; and, a third warrant for Disorderly Conduct, Parole Violation on original charge of Family Offense.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Arrest
According to an entry on the Coos Bay Police log for Friday, 6:29 p.m., Marion & Virginia, North Bend, “follow up,” arrested 26-year old Richard Aaron Luck, Unauthorized Entry Vehicle, Theft III, Criminal Mischief II.

Vehicles
Break ins to vehicles on the Coos Bay Police log for Friday:  6:04 a.m., 2600 block Koos Bay Blvd., Hearthside, 25-year old female reported “vehicle broken into during night;” 300 block So. 8th St., 22-year old reported “theft from vehicle;”  1:27 p.m., 200 block E. Johnson Ave., 19-year old male reported “unlawful entry MV.”

Punched
A 36-year old female complained to Coos Bay Police early Sunday morning that she was “punched in the face by boyfriend.”  According to an entry on the police log, 40-year old Jeffrey T. Parker was charged with Assault IV Domestic and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DUII
According to an entry on the Coquille Police log for Sunday morning, 1:41 a.m., Knott & Central, “result of traffic stop.”  Twenty-six year old Jonathan Knapp arrested for DUII (BAC .06%), transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

VRO
According to an entry on the Coos Co. Sheriff’s log for Saturday, 2:31 p.m., North Ave., violation of restraining order.  “Following brief pursuit,” 33-year old Nicholas Hennick arrested for VRO and Attempt to Elude.

Chunky peanut butter
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Sunday, 9:26 a.m., 3000 block Ash St., “reported someone put chunky peanut butter on his vehicle’s door handles.”  2001 Dodge pickup truck.  At 9:35 a.m., same block, “report his neighbor’s vehicle handles were covered with chunky peanut butter.”  2001 Chevrolet Blazer.

Warrant
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Sunday, 12:22 a.m., 2600 block Stanton Ave., 42-year old Andrea Dixon arrested on two OSP warrants for Failure to Appear on original charge of Attempt Elude, Reckless Driving, DWS Misdemeanor and Failure to Appear.  Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Baseball bat
For the third time this month, police received a report of someone using a baseball bat as a weapon in obtaining items from another.  This time it occurred in the Airport Heights area of North Bend on Saturday night.  According to an entry on the police log for 11:26 p.m., “reported male subject on a bike near the NB Annex claimed he was attacked by two subjects with red sweatshirts and baseball bats who took his money and cigarettes and then fled.”  The other two “baseball bat” incidents took place in Coos Bay.
