2009.10.03 - SOCC Men's Soccer 1 - Everett 5

Southwestern Oregon CC Men's Soccer Team was defeated by Everett CC on October 3rd, 2009.

Once in a while athletic teams have games where know one knows what went wrong. Well, on October 3rd, 2009 that team was the Southwestern Oregon Men's Soccer Team. They traveled to Everett Community College to face the Trojans who have lost two of their previous games, on the other hand the Lakers came into this game with a previous win against Edmonds. The Lakers were also missing two key players to their offense. Kilo Gonzalez #17 and Drue Harris #12 were not able to attend the game because of two previous red cards.

Once the referee began the game, you could feel the intensity of the game. Although Everett's Trojans scored their first goal in the 9th minute. Jeff Gosslee found the net to put the Trojans in the lead. Jeff Gosslee was showing no mercy as he scored for his second time at the 25th minute. First half score was Lakers 0, Everett 2. Jeff Gosslee for the third time this game scored his 3rd goal at the 50th minute. Lakers were struggling all game to keep the ball in their possession. Seth Jones for the Trojans scored one minute after to make the score Lakers 0, Everett 4. As this game couldn't get any worse for the Lakers, Kevin Chavez scores a 5th goal for the Trojans. Laker's Manny Mendoza #13 finds the net to score a goal at the 62nd minute. That was not enough as the game ended with the Trojans receiving the win.

Manny Mendoza #13 said after the game, "We had our moment. We came out very flat, flatter than usual. We need to come out fired up and ready to play.
