SOCC Men's Soccer vs. Pierce
Early back in the beginning of the season Lakers traveled to Pierce CC. It was a great game for the Lakers, but Pierce did the impossible and tied the Lakers. After a heated rivalry Lakers were looking forward to playing against Pierce again to show them who really was the better team. Well the Lakers on October 31, 2009 played an amazing team and sent the Pierce team back home with an embarrasing performance.
Manny Mendoza #13 has had an amazing season. Manny has been leading the Lakers with goals all season long and was looking to score some more before their season ended. Manny Mendoza does just that and scores in the 3rd minute against Pierce. Tillerman Kroon #11 with the assist. The score was 1-0 when Tillerman Kroon #11 provides Manny Mendoza with another assist as he jumps past the goalkeeper to score his second goal of the game at the 20th minute. Lakers had most ball possession and were dominating the Pierce Team.
With the start of the second half Drue Harris #9 had a couple of shots against the Pierce Team, but he acquired an assist as he passes the ball to Manny Mendoza who scores his third goal of the game and earns a Hat-Trick (3 Goals) at the 53rd minute. Manny Mendoza had 3 goals, but is able to get an assist as he passes the ball to teammate Drue Harris at the 56th minute and shoots and scores for the 4th goal of the game. It was a very well-played game by the Lakers as they defeat a playoff team.
SOCC Lakers played a very great game against Pierce and showed Pierce who the better team was. Lakers unfortunately are not going to Playoffs, but they still have two more games left. They are looking to defeat Clark, and South Puget Sound in the next week. The next foe is Clark at Clark CC on Wednesday so wish the Lakers luck. Please come by on November 7th, 2009 and support the Laker's as the Men's team faces off against South Puget Sound and Women's Soccer faces off against Lane at home. It is their last game of the season!
