SOCC Lakers lose to Lane 85-52 Lady Laker in their previous game against Linn-Benton came back home with a win on their record. Today was a different story as the Lakers lost to Lane CC in a difficult game. Lady Lakers during the first half struggled to find the basket and turnovered the ball. Despite all the errors the Lakers never lost their composure and kept their heads up. Lakers only scored 7 out of 28 of their shots. The second half was not any better as the Lakers only scored 6 out of 25 shots. Lakers during the entire game weren't able to find a rythm and Lane offense was too much for the Laker defense. Lindsay Sommers #51 lead the team with 12 points and 6 total rebounds. I caught up with Sierra Terrel-Perez after the game and asked her a couple questions, "In the end of the game we forced shots. We played 100%, and we worked together, our shots just didn't go in." Mattea Grant #3 ended the game with 4 points and 7 rebounds, said "We have confidence, we need to stay focused. When we get a couple of points down we have to have confidence that we can come back. We are doing good, it's just those little things that take time." Despite the loss, Lady Lakers are strong athletes, and will keep working hard to improve so please come out and support your Lady Lakers before the Men's Game on Friday January 22nd, 2010.
