SW Oregon Lakers defeat Portland 108-89, but are defeated by Mt. Hood by 3 pts.
SW Men’s Vs Portland
The Lakers defeated Portland 108-89 in a very great game game on January 22nd, 2010. The crowd was very loud and cheered the Laker team on the whole game. Laker Men put on a great show outscoring Portland by 19 pts.
During the first half of play the Laker’s came out strong and kept a good rhythm during the first half. Laker Joseph Moquino #3 scored two quick points to put the Lakers up. At the end of the first half the Laker scored 48 pts and Portland lead by one point with 49. Lakers were shooting 46.67% in FG’s and 33.33% in 3-pt shots in the first half.
At the start of the 2nd half of play the Laker crowd’s roar became louder and louder as the Lakers played on. It was a very intense half of play with the Lakers scoring an amazing 69.70% in FG, in addition Laker 3-pt shooting was very high at 63.64%. They were able to shut down their opponents as they reached triple digits with their outstanding shooting during their second half.
Lakers had six different players to reach double digits in points, the leading scorer of the night was Ryan Flynn #32 with 20 points, 5 total three point shots! Joseph Moquino #3, Bari Mims #4, and Lincoln Seto #5 all finished with 6 assists each. Lakers did an outstanding job offensively, and defensively as they sent Portland back with another loss. Good Job Lakers!
SW Men’s vs Mt. Hood
The Lakers deated Portland the previous day in a very stylish way, now it was time to play against Mt. Hood. Mt. Hood has a good squad, but nevertheless Lakers were ready to play against Mt. Hood.
The first half for the Laker Men was a little sloppy as they couldn’t bring their skill together. They shot 38% in the first half and a low 18.18% 3-pts. The Lakers trailed 35-41.
Second half of play was a lot better for the Lakers as they outscored their opponents 42-39, but unfortunately it was not enough to defeat Mt. Hood. They were short 3 points and they attempted a last three pointer to send the game to overtime, but were unsuccessful in converting. Good Game Lakers
Terrance Stanley #23 led the team with 21 pts, and led the team during the second half. Please wish your Lakers good luck as they travel to face off against Chemeketa this upcoming Friday.
